Patel MicroData was established on July 27, 1984 to provide microfilm services to the emerging document management industry in India.
Initially Patel MicroData started as a bureau which converted mainly commercial documents to microfilm. Later it acquired the microfilm business of MacNiel & Magor, Khatau Industries and subsequently Microdocumentation Center. In the meantime branches were set up in all the major Indian Metros - Mumbai, (Bombay) in two locations, Chennai (Madras), Bengaluru (Bangalore), New Delhi, Kolkata (Calcutta) and Jamshedpur. These three acquisitions and the expanding network of branches made it the largest microfilm bureau in India offering services to all types of organizations.
We were also appointed distributor for Agfa Microfilm, Canon microfilm products, Indus, SMA Data and various other manufacturers of microfilm products.
By 2000, newer technologies were making microfilm redundant; hence the company rode the winds of change to set up a large paper to digital document capture bureau. The bureau handled prestigious projects for Arthur Andersen, Tata Industries, Hitachi, Prudential, Temasek, and many others.
In 2003 we set up our microfilm scanning operation equipped with cutting edge technology and systems in a spanking new facility in Vikhroli outside Mumbai.
This unit provides scanning services to overseas service bureaus and BPO’s , insulating us from the end user or final customer. We have consciously taken this step to ensure that our service bureaux and BPO customers are secure.
